Maurice Harmon (Academic Year 1993-1994)

Maurice Harmon, a scholar of Irish literature and an English-language poet, is Professor Emeritus of Anglo-Irish Literature and Drama at University College, Dublin, where he co-founded and formerly directed the Masters program in Irish Studies. Over the course of his career, Harmon was awarded numerous fellowships in the United States, teaching at Notre Dame University, Harvard University, and the Catholic University of America. In addition, Harmon was a long-time editor of several important journals in the field of Irish Studies, including Irish University Review: A Journal of Irish Studies (1970-1986) and Poetry Ireland Review.
