Library privacy statement

The Boston College Libraries are committed to protecting the privacy of Boston College Libraries users, as described in the Code of Ethics of the American Library Association, which states : "We protect each library user's right to privacy and confidentiality with respect to information sought or received and resources consulted, borrowed, acquired or transmitted."  The Libraries adhere to this statement in accordance with the terms and conditions of the University’s Professional Standards and Business Conduct -- Use of University Technological and Information Resources (PDF). In addition, in all cases, the Libraries are subject to the requirements of applicable laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the United States.

Our website contains links to websites and licensed databases that Boston College Libraries do not maintain or support. In addition, we use third-party tools for some of our library pages and services. Please note that Boston College Libraries are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of these third parties.
