Bernard Meehan (Spring 1998)

Bernard Meehan is Keeper of Manuscripts at Trinity College Dublin. A specialist in early illuminated manuscripts, he has published on the Book of Kells, which is held at Trinity College, as well as the St. Cuthbert Gospel.  Meehan is a former chairman of the Irish Region of the Society of Archivists, as well as a former member of the National Archives Advisory Council (1987-1997). In addition to displaying and preserving medieval manuscripts, Meehan oversees several contemporary Irish collections that intersect with the holdings of the Burns Library, such as material related to the author Samuel Beckett.
