Job Descriptions and Requirements

The Social Work Library and our role within the campus:

  • We strive to facilitate the academic goals of the Boston College School of Social Work and the Boston College community at large, through access to our library resources, services, and space. The BC School of Social Work Library is the only dedicated social work library in New England.

We are looking for student employees to join our team at the Social Work Library who are committed to excellent customer service to support the Boston College School of Social Work and the greater Boston College community. The students in this position will staff the service desk, including assisting patrons in person and on the phone; provide technology support, including scanning, printer maintenance, and troubleshooting basic computer issues; and participate in projects including course reserves, inventory, displays, and exhibits, etc. Responsibilities also include shelf organization, cleaning, collaborating with co-workers and supervisors, closing/opening in staff's absence, and other duties as assigned. May include nights and weekends.

  • Preferred but not required: Experience using Canvas, Excel, and ILS (Integrated Library Software).
