Resources for History Graduate Students

Specialized Article Databases

This is a guide to history resources for graduate students.

What's on This Page

This page has a lot on it. You can use the following anchors (links down the page) to jump straight to a relevant box.

    Broad Searching

To search across multiple specialized collections, try Google Scholar. Google Scholar does not host any articles, but searches multiple scholarly full text collections. Once you find relevant material, head over to the BC Library catalog to see if we have it. If we don't, consider ordering through Inter Library Loan (ILL).

    Humanities Article Databases

We own or subscribe to over 800 different databases. No single one is comprehensive, so it's important to explore your topic in several different places. We recommend beginning with JSTOR or Historical Abstracts and--if you're an Americanist--America: History & Life. But here are additional, frequently useful article databases.
