Goals

Today's class addresses critical level skills and competencies in information retrieval, evaluation, and management (see below). You'll continue to build chemical information skills during your education, and later in the workforce.

After today's class you should be able to

  • Construct a replicable search strategy for the SciFinder database to find references about a particular topic
  • Use SciFinder filters to focus on search results appropriate for your assignment
  • Distinguish between review articles and primary (original) research
  • Find articles citing a particular item published in chemistry literature
