This page focuses on 19th and 20h century history for the western, Sub-Saharan African continent. According to the United Nations, that includes sixteen states including Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, the Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo.
Each of these collections holds thousands of digital facsimiles (copies) of text and ephemera. Consider looking for material on your subject in these different document sets using keyword searches.
