Renewing Books & Recalls

Renewals

Renewals are possible when material has not been requested by another borrower.  Non-BC borrowers may renew materials by either calling or visiting one of the BC Libraries Circulation Desks or responding to the email reminder that they receive.

Faculty, staff and students can renew library materials themselves by accessing "My Account" in the Catalog, calling or visiting one of the BC Libraries Circulation Desks or responding to the email reminder that they receive.

Recalls

Materials that are checked out to you may be recalled by another patron.  Recall requests shorten the loan period for the original borrower, who is guaranteed a minimum loan period of 14 days.  Borrowers are notified via email when an item checked out to them is recalled.  If the item is not returned by the due date specified in the email, fines will incur and borrowing privileges may be suspended.

Fines for recalled material are $5 per day with a maximum fine of $25.
