German Studies

Operated by the German Foreign Ministry and the Federal Press and Information Office, the GIC is a resource center for everyone with an interest in Germany. It offers weekly newsletters, statements and speeches, background papers, fact sheets, brochures for downloading, and special sections.

Produced by the Goethe Institute, this site organizes a large number of links by a range of subject headings: education, visual arts, film, music, theatre and dance.

Initiated in 2011 by the Literary Colloquium Berlin (LCB), the web portal Lesungen.net offers free access to historical and current literary events. Audio recordings, dating as far back as the 1960s and featuring, among others, readings by Günter Grass, Christa Wolf, Salman Rushdie, Ilse Aichinger, Max Frisch, and Martin Walser, have since been digitized and made available online.
