Swivl Robot

Information regarding the educational technology circulated at the ERC.

Quick Reference Guide

Note: The Swivl Robot must be used with a mobile device such as an iPad or iPhone.

Setting Up the Swivl Robot
  1. Pair the Marker and the Base. Press and hold the power button on the Base. Hold the power button the Marker for 3-4 seconds. Both lights should turn green, meaning they are paired.
  2. Connect the device. Open the Bluetooth menu on your device. Press and hold the sync button on the Swivl Base until Bluetooth status light flashes. Pair with Swivl. Green status light means it is connected.
  3. Connect audio cable. Plug the audio cable into microphone port on the Base and into your mobile device to receive wireless microphone feed. The Marker contains a microphone.
  4. Download the Swivl App on your mobile device. Create your free Swivl Account OR login with your credentials.
    • Note: The Swivl App is downloaded on all ERC iPads.

How to Capture Video
  1. Open the Swivl App on your device.
  2. You will be prompted to create a Swivl Cloud account. This will allow you to manage all of your videos on any device with an internet browser.
  3. Choose "Capture Video" or "Capture Video and Slides".
    • Note: The slides must be uploaded in the Swivl Cloud. The arrows on the front of your marker will advance your slides.
  4. Tap the record button on the Marker to begin recording.
  5. To stop recording, tap the record button on the Marker again.
How to Export Your Video
  1. Login to Cloud.Swivl.com with your username and password to access your videos.
  2. Click "Library" then "Projects".
  3. Select whichever video you want to share
  4. Click on Export.
    • Download Video to save the .mp4 or .mov file to your computer
    • Export to YouTube. Export the video file as a .mov.
How to Share Your Video
  1. Login to Cloud.Swivl.com with your username and password to access your videos.
  2. Click "Library" then "Projects".
  3. Select whichever video you want to share.
  4. Click on Share.
    • Share via email. Sends a link to your project on Swivl cloud directly via email.
    • Share with Group. You can share your project with any of your existing groups, or create a new one.
    • Share Private Link. "Private Link" means you cam distribute this video and have viewers see it without having to create a Swivl cloud account. It can also be forwarded, re-posted and watched by anyone with the link.
    • Embed this Project. You can add your project to a website or blog by embedding it.
