Takedown Notice

:

Process

Boston College Libraries makes digitized special collections content accessible online for education and research. We make the best effort to adhere to all known copyrights and rights of privacy, publicity, or trademark of the materials in our digitized content.

If you are a rights holder and are concerned that material is available through Boston College Libraries for which you have not granted permission (or is not covered by an exception under U.S. copyright laws), you may request its removal by submitting a notice with the following information to Burns Library staff (burns@bc.libanswers.com).

  • Identification of the material and information sufficient to locate it;
  • Your contact information, including address, telephone number, and email address;
  • A statement that you are the owner, or authorized to act on behalf of the owner, and an explanation of any claims to rights for the material;
  • A statement that the information in the message is accurate and made under penalty of perjury; and
  • Your electronic signature.

We will review the request. Upon determination of just cause, the item(s) will be removed from public view until the request is resolved. Depending on the Library's findings, we may restrict access to the materials in question or remove them from its systems. The Head Librarian of User Engagement and Burns Library Public Services will inform you of the library's decision.
