Guide to the Government Documents Collection

This collection of U.S. Federal Government Documents supports research, learning and teaching in all Boston College departments and programs.  The collection is composed of content from the Federal Depository Library Program, U.S. Federal Government websites, the HathiTrust Digital Library and electronic collections and databases purchased by the library. 

 

Logo of the Federal Depository Library ProgramBoston College Libraries is a member of the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP), which is a partnership between the Government Publishing Office (GPO) and Congressionally designated libraries around the United States.   BC provides access to government publications for both the university community and the constituents of the 4th Congressional District. Public access to the Government Documents collection is guaranteed by law.

Scope & Collecting Emphases

The collection fulfills the need for federal government information at Boston College.  This includes the output of the three major branches of government including law and legislation, regulations, data, speeches, reports, declassified documents and more.  The collection spans from the government’s founding to the present day.
