Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

Staff Resources

Boston College has a number of EDI resources for employees, both within and outside of the Libraries.

Office of Institutional Diversity

The Office for Institutional Diversity supports the mission of Boston College by promoting a culture of inclusion that values each individual. We believe that diversity fuels excellence, and that the best ideas are discovered when people—from different backgrounds, who have lived different realities, who have overcome different challenges—work together to expand their authentic perspectives.

Boston College Affinity Groups

Boston College Affinity Groups are volunteer, employee-managed groups that promote the interests of their respective constituencies. Affinity Groups bring together individuals with common interests to facilitate efforts that promote education and awareness while helping to advance and sustain a campus culture and climate that welcomes diversity and inclusiveness. All members of the BC community are welcomed!

BC Libraries Affinity Groups

Affinity Groups are places where underrepresented groups can come together for rest, reflection, sharing, healing, and organizing during work time. Affinity groups are organized by group members! They can be adapted to fit group members' needs.

These groups are specifically for those who identify as BIPOC, as LGBTQIA, or as having a disability. If you do not identify in one of these groups but are interested in learning, check the BC Events calendar for diversity and inclusion events that are open to all.
