This collection serves the curricular and research needs of the students and faculty in the German Studies Department.
The collection supports the department’s curricular goals of providing students with the means to achieve proficiency in German and advanced knowledge in the areas of Germanic culture, international business, and history from the Middle Ages to the present. A concurrent collection focus is the research interests of individual faculty members. The department’s curriculum provides for the inclusion of interdisciplinary courses from the departments of Music, History, Philosophy and English, among others.
Purchasing activity is focused on works published by university presses and reputable scholarly commercial publishers in the United States, Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
