This collection supports research, teaching and learning in the Asian Studies Program and fulfills the need for information and scholarship on Asia at Boston College. The collection is highly interdisciplinary and represents a wide range of interests in Asia.

Disciplinary Scope & Collecting Emphases

The Asian Studies Collection supports a wide range of research and teaching interests in Asia at Boston College.  The collection focuses most heavily on history, philosophy, religion, literature, politics, sociology, economics and international relations of China, Japan and Korea.  Other East Asian countries, South Asia and South East Asia are represented to a lesser degree. India, however, is an area of growing focus for the collection.

Curriculum and faculty research needs dictate collection strengths and areas of development.  This collection provides research level support to topics of faculty interest only.  Major publishers include Brill, CUP, Taylor & Francis, OUP, and University of Hawaii.
