Zotero

:

Search, Notes, Tags, and Library Lookup

Zotero is a free Firefox, Chrome, and Safari extension that helps you collect, manage, and cite your research sources.

Organize

Organize your citations with folders and subfolders, or tags, or both.

Take Notes

Add your own notes to citations -- to begin sketching your ideas about the source, to note a specific quotation, or to create an annotated bibliography.

Search

When you search Zotero, you are not only searching your citations, but also any notes that you have taken, as well as the full text of any pdf’s that you’ve captured, which are automatically indexed.

Zotero Library

Library Lookup

Use the ‘Library Lookup’ button the same way you use the FindIt button  – to move from a citation in your Zotero Library to the full text in the BC Libraries collections (if you haven’t already captured the pdf).

If it is not automatically configured, you can adjust the settings to work with BC collections under:
 > Preferences > Advanced > OpenURL

Then cut and paste this string into the Resolver box:
