This guides provides information on resources available for tax research and instructions on how to use them.

Introduction

This guide highlights some of the resources available for researching tax issues.   It includes library subscriptions, which are restricted to the current Boston College community, and free government sources.

Where to start

Some tips for starting your research:

  • To search across primary and secondary tax documents on a specific tax issue start with Cheetah (formerly CCH)  or Bloomberg Law which includes BNA Tax publications.  Along with news and analysis, they include the full text of many primary documents such as tax laws, regulations, judicial opinions, etc.
  • Looking for a discussion of a tax-related topic?  Use the "Articles" tab to find relevant journal articles and reports.
