Catholic Mount Auburn Cemetery Data

Catholic Mount Auburn Cemetery Data

This is a spreadsheet of data based on records for 22,706 burial records for Catholic Mount Auburn Cemetery and review of death records on all burials from 1854 - 1920. Approximately 1500 burials were not recorded during various gaps. Additional information may be found in the 'index of data' file.  The largest set of data is to be found in the 'Master List for Boston College' file.  A search for East Boston will show names of people whose home or business address was East Boston.  In some cases, a specific street search may reveal other people with East Boston addresses. Find street names in the Historical maps and atlases.

Information Wanted

From October 1831 through October 1921, the Boston Pilot newspaper printed a “Missing Friends” column with advertisements from people looking for “lost” friends and relatives who had emigrated from Ireland to the United States. This collection of 41,249 records is available here as a searchable online database, which contains a text record for each ad that appeared in the Pilot.  Records up to 1869 have been added to the database.

Another source for these ads may be found through American Ancestors.org.  Free registration allows a search in the scanned set of ads 1831 - 1920 featured in the database, Irish Immigrant Advertisements, 1830-1921 (Search for Missing Friends).
