Because of copyright laws, when HathiTrust provides temporary access, our print copy can't be borrowed.
If you have a print copy on loan already, it will not be renewable. Because of copyright laws, we must limit renewals on print copies. Get in touch with Access Services to make alternative arrangements. (firstname.lastname@example.org | 617-552-8038)
HathiTrust limits access to 1 user at a time for each print copy held by the BC Libraries. A title with 3 copies will allow access for up to 3 users at a time. If you see this message, try again later. Make sure to return your book when you’re done with it so others can use it.
When you access an item via HathiTrust, it is checked out to you for 1 hour. The loan will auto renew if you are still reading it and no one else is trying to use it. Make sure to return your book when you’re done with it so that others can use it.
These items may be protected by copyright law but are made available as Temporary Access while physical access to the library is limited. No further reproduction or distribution is permitted by any means without the permission of the copyright holder.
"Temporary Access" books can be accessed only by BC students, staff, and faculty. Unfortunately, this service is not available to alumni or guests.
When BC Libraries fully resume normal operations, we will no longer qualify for Emergency Temporary Access, and this service will be turned off.
HathiTrust is a not-for-profit collaborative of academic and research libraries preserving 17+ million digitized items. HathiTrust offers reading access to the fullest extent allowable by U.S. copyright law, computational access to the entire corpus for scholarly research, and other emerging services based on the combined collection. As a member of HathiTrust, Boston College helps steward the collection.
