The House of Commons British Parliamentary Papers online database contains the full-text of sessional papers presented to Parliament.
The papers include reports of committees and royal commisions, accounts, public bills. The coverage is from 1688-2005.
Resources for Irish and Irish-American history include reference materials, such as encyclopedias, biographies, bibliographies as well as scholarly texts, newspaper and journal articles, government documents and audio and visual materials.
Conducting research into history calls for the use of both primary and secondary sources. See the "Sources for Historical Research" tab above for more information on types of sources.
Ireland's history is tied closely with that of Great Britain. It is important to remember this fact when using government publications. The database highlighted in the box to the left is a case in point. Other British government publications along with Irish government publications are listed under Primary Sources in the "Sources for Historical Research" tab above.
Consult the Irish and Irish-American Newspapers page for information on historical newspapers.
