What is a treatise?
A treatise is a work which aims to cover the topic comprehensively. Individual chapters are authored by recognized authorities in the field, tend to be quite lengthy, and carry an extensive list of references. Here is a small selection of important chemical treatises in the Boston College Libraries collection. Other treatises may be found using a subject search of Quest.
