Factiva User Guide

:

Search Tips & Help

This is a guide on how to use Factiva.

Search Tips

  • Factiva defaults to the latest three months.  Be sure to select a data range.
  • Search terms need to be connected by "and" or another "operator" (see below).  Factiva automatically searches for terms without operators as phrases.
  • The following punctuation marks are optional: hyphens, periods, apostrophes, commas, and the slash (/) character. For example, entering "coca-cola" will retrieve the same results as entering "Coca cola."
  • Use shortcuts such as by=author's name or sn=newspaper name (i.e. by=peggy noonan, sn=wall street journal)
