Eligible loans for all patrons are automatically renewed 3 days before the due date. Faculty, staff, and students may also renew library materials online by accessing "My Account" in the Catalog. All patrons may visit one of the BC Libraries Circulation Desks, or respond to the email reminder sent to their BC email to request renewal.
You can request items that support your research and academic needs. This includes items not in your preferred format (e.g. you can request a print book if we have the ebook), items owned by the library that are not available for check out, and items not owned by the Boston College Libraries. This is free for BC students, faculty, and staff. For more information, please visit Request Materials.
Materials that are checked out may be recalled by library staff. Recalls shorten the loan period for the original borrower. Borrowers are notified via email when an item is recalled. If the item is not returned by the due date specified in the email, fines will incur and borrowing privileges may be suspended.
Fines for recalled material are $5 per day with a maximum fine of $25.
